  • Every pool is guaranteed to have a skimmer, you’ll need your water level to be up to it! Most commonly it is a white box/rectangle located 8-12 inches below the top edge of your pool. You’ll want to fill the water level up to the middle of the skimmer, or the 2 bottom most screws!

    Let’s start from the beginning, check your skimmer basket and make sure it is empty, next you can move on to your pump basket and check it.

    If you have a pressure gage for your filter you can now check to see it is within the acceptable range of psi, if not then the cartridge/ sand filter will need to be cleaned.

  • Cartridge filters are recommended to be cleaned twice a year. 

    Sand filter changes are recommended every 3-5 years.

  • It is recommended that no one should get into a pool after you have shocked the pool depending on the severity of it. 

    1-2 cups of shock > wait 24 hours 

    3-4 cups of shock > wait 48 hours 

    4+ cups > wait 72 hours

  • Pool chemicals tend to clícate depending on weather and temperature changes. 

    Typically in the summer you will be checking your pool every week 1-2 times, say once on Monday and once on Friday .

    Once we get into the colder months of the season you can check it once every two weeks and it shouldn’t fluctuate much.

    Keep in mind, storm conditions can throw your chemicals off by 

     a.) adding in a large amount of organics with wind/debris  

     b.) that large amount of water/rain can dilute the chemicals that are currently in your pool.

  • Your salt cell should be cleaned every six months, but can depend on what manufacturer your salt cell is.
